I Love Supporting ANSWER Nepal!

When I sponsored my first student with ANSWER 15 years ago, I was swiftly impressed by the carefully composed, kind letter I received from Dipesh. *

The next year, I was excited to join other sponsors touring the gorgeous country of Nepal and to have the privilege of meeting my student and his family. The experience overwhelmed me so much that I adopted a second student before I left Nepal. He was matched with my third pupil shortly thereafter.

It was heartwarming to witness “my boys” excel and mature. I am thrilled and proud that all three students matured into successful young men.  I am flattered that they call me “Grandpa.” We maintain contact on Facebook, and I am elated to bask in their successful lives. Two of my students have earned Mechanical Engineering degrees!

I have visited Nepal five times (5X!) to savor time with my students and to enjoy the ambience of the home of Mount Everest. I traveled to numerous villages with “Uncle Earle” and ANSWER-Nepal Staff. I was overwhelmed with their efficiency and personal attention offered to each student’s progress. I am honored to continue my involvement with this valuable opportunity enabling children to receive a transformative education that enhances their futures and that of their families. Whee!  **

NOTE from “Uncle” Earle: When I started ANSWER, I thought only of impacting the lives of these children; but as they took off like Eagles and soared to amazing heights, I thought perhaps they could somehow have an impact on Nepali society. Now that I am in my dotage, I see a much broader impact–that on our sponsors. So many sponsors have come to realize that there is a world out there they know nothing about, and have come to know a piece of it on a personal level. They realize that they have not just rescued a “kid” (and his/her family) from poverty, but that their child’s success has become a legacy which will be long remembered. Jim is a sterling example of just how much one can get out of educating a child through ANSWER. We are all made richer and better when we reach out to help,….esp. if that help is effective!
